3 walkers found dead days after jumping in the waterfall in California

Three hikers were found dead during the weekend days after they had jumped in a waterfall in California.

The Sheriff’s Office of the Placer County received a report on 18 June that three men had jumped in Rattlesnake Falls, near Soda Springs.

The men did not stand up and a search and rescue mission was launched.

Officials said that ground and air tests were carried out while the other three men in the walking group were evacuated from the “remote” area with a “difficult track” on June 19.

The search was hampered by strong currents and strong winds.

The Sheriff office announced on 22 June that “the bodies of the three men were found”, but their identities were not released.

“Our sincere condolences go out to their families, friends and all those affected by this tragic loss,” said the Sheriff’s office in a statement.

Juan Heredia, a voluntary diver, said in a Facebook message that he and another diver found late Saturday night and immediately informed the sheriff department.

“We couldn’t wait. I knew it could take weeks to take up. Families had to close this chapter. What surprised me was the sergeant’s answer:” We are going to send a team to walk now to take care of the bodies. “”

No other details about the incident have been released.

Soda Springs is about 26 miles from Lake Tahoe.

Cal Fire, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Dive team and a California Highway Patrol -Heliopter took part in the search.
