The basis of the complaint comes from an alleged incident that took place in Harden’s Houston house during a New Year’s party. Marisa Watley, the plaintiff, claims that Blackburn raped her while she was unconscious. Watley, who demands a jury court and economic, compensating and punitive damage, also claims that the protection staff of Harden was negligent.

According to the lawsuit, Watley and two of her friends attended the new annual party after they had been to a Houston Strip Club. When the three women heard about the party in Harden’s house, they took a Uber there before they were invited to the ‘Studio’ van Harden. It was there that Blackburn reportedly offered them a drink from a bottle before the three fainted.

Watley claims that her memory when it became “extremely blurry” and was “shocked in consciousness” while she was attacked, in which she was “in a dreamy state” and “not completely awake”.

The two women who accompanied Watley to the party were later removed by the Security Team of Harden, so Watley still stayed inside. The women came into contact with Watley’s sister, who managed to contact Harden’s sister, the mother of Blackburn. The sister sent a photo of Watley to the Security Team of Harden who, according to the complaint, told her that the woman in the house was not Watley.

“Since New Year’s Day, when I reported Mr. Blackburn’s rape to the police, I have remained surprised at how Mr Harden’s safety behaved that day – it is painful to imagine that this could all have been put on time,” said Watley in a statement that was released. “I hope that this complaint is generally pushing security staff to act more responsible when women are in danger.”
