RISHABH Pant reprimanded reprimand for referee different opinions during England test

Rishabh Pant is reprimanded for deviating opinions towards the referees during the first test of India against England in Headingley.

On the third day of the test, during the 61st of the first innings of England, UP referees Paul Reiffel and Chris Gaffaney checked the shape of the ball with a bullet meter and chose not to change it.

Frustrated about this decision, pant threw the ball on the ground for the referees and this was considered disagreement.

Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct has violated this, which relates to “showing different opinions during a referee during an international competition” and the Indian Wicketkeeper has now received an official reprimand, with one Demerit point added to his previously unharmed disciplinary record.

“The India’s Rishabh pants has received an official reprimand for the breach of level 1 of the ICC behavior code during the third day of the first test against England in Headingley on Sunday,” explained the official media release of the ICC.

“Pant admitted the violation and accepted the sanction proposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel or Match Referees, so no formal hearing was needed

“UP referees on the field Paul Reiffel and Chris Gaffaney, third referee Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and fourth referee Mike Burns have set the indictment. Level 1 infringements bear a minimal fine of an official reprimand, a maximum fine of 50 percent of a player competition and one or one demers.”

Pant has performed brilliantly in the first test and showed all his Maverick magic to make a century in each of India’s innings – 134 in the first and 118 seconds round. He celebrated the first in a typical spectacular way by doing an acrobatic front flip.

That has contributed to setting up a fascinating last day where England still needs 350 runs to win, with 10 wickets still in hand.

The Demerit Point Pant has received for his reprimand will remain his disciplinary record for a period of 24 months, when it will be removed.

If a player reaches four or more demerit points within a 24 -month period, they are converted into suspension points and a player is banned. Two suspension points correspond to a prohibition of one test or two ODIs or two T20Is, which comes for the first place for the player.
